My Dogs: Nai

Pedigree name: Nancy Blue vom Karntnerland

DOB: 28.05.2012

Nai is my parents’ dog, and to me, she’s the best dog anyone could hope for—smart, funny, and full of will to please. Others, however, might just describe her as loud. I know Shelties are known for their barking, but with Nai, barking reaches a whole new level! Sure, I admit it can be a little annoying sometimes, but this is just who she is—she puts her whole heart into everything she does.

At home, she’s a total couch potato, happily curled up right beside you and as sweet as can be. But when we go for a walk or train agility, she’s all about being loud and fast. Her favorite activity is chasing after the Border Collies and then loudly “telling them off” right in their ears! She also loves leaping high into the air, attacking any blanket you try to cover yourself with, and burying her dog chews in the flower pots. Like I said, she’s quite the funny dog.

She was always incredibly easy to train and naturally talented. She wouldn’t run agility with anyone except my sister and me, but she’d do anything for us. My sister started training her, and I took over once she had already reached grade 2. Just for fun, I entered her in qualifiers to see if we might qualify for the European Open. But she surprised us all by qualifying for the World Championship at only the age of three!

Her talent and eagerness to please have earned us countless medals at both national and international levels. Nai is now enjoying her retirement.
